I had the opportunity to attend NYC’s NFT event and I’m happy to share my reflections.

Maybe my interest in this topic came from the endless hours my dad and I would spend playing video games. Need for Speed, Super Mario Bros, Doom oh the good ol days! Literally on a school night we’d stay up until 2am, with our notebook of combinations of codes we generated ultimately level up until we beat the game. Ok I’m a closet gamer.

On October 26th, I put my NFT newbie self out there and tweeted:

This action literally launched me into a new universe, I mean metaverse.

I got connected to a 15 year old digital artist who offered to gift me my first NFT! OMG what the F do I do?!

Step 1: Open Accounts: Coinbase, Metamask Wallet, OpenSea

Step 2: Link your wallet to OpenSea

Step 3: Copy your wallet address from OpenSea and share it with the artist selling the NFT

Step 4: Wait for it…Blockchain is busy…transferring can take a little bit of time.

My First NFT, isn’t it beautiful?! My boys love it too and its fun to see the value incrementally grow.

And so the bug bit…not just me, Alex as well. He gifted me my second NFT — a personalized self portrait.

It’s something new and I’m still learning. Taking the first step to lean into something new is an action to be celebrated! Have fun!
